Bathroom Stall Galactica Production Post #4

It's beginning to look a lot like aliens, soon with rays to abduct. This week was another week dedicated to revised rounds of concept art for our production pass. We met on Monday of this week to discuss the backstories of both our aliens and our main character, and here is what we decided upon.

Jeremiah Beige is a trucker who is driving through Nebraska and in high need of a bathroom. Growing impatient while waiting at a gas station, Jeremiah wants to get along with his delivery and is not interested in any shenanigans. Straight to the point, a little gruff, and tired after a long day, the last thing he wants is to have to figure out something new, unluckily for him.

Our alien friends are in the similar boat. Mr. Jeremiah Beige happens to be the last abduction of the night needed to meet their quota. From an advanced society, these aliens are expanding their knowledge by studying the inhabitants of far away planets on a research vessel. Ready to return home to their planet, when their last test subject needs to use the bathroom, they would rather he get it over with it than deal with him slowing down their experiments later. Smart and experienced, but weary and ready to wrap it up. A similarity between our characters.

For my personal contribution, I spent more time working on depicting the abduction bay. I created this cleaned up perspective drawing to help create a better idea of the room scale.

The idea is the room will have six "alcoves" that make up the space, since our aliens have architecture based around threes/triangles. While I am not the greatest artest, my idea was to have the top section taper out similar to the dome of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.

The arches dividing the sections will have lights that feed into the ray that will be depicted at the top. The control panels will be separated with two sections that resemble key activation for nuclear missiles, where two operators are needed simultaneously to enable it. My job will be to add greater details to this drawing in order to depict lighting, the door mechanisms, and the eventual design of the abduction ray on top.

Next week we will get some peer advice in our first production pass, and from that we will begin our production in earnest! Until next time, nanu nanu.
